New York-based Canadian singer, trumpeter and songwriter Bria Skonberg is described as one of the “most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation” (Wall Street Journal) and recognized as one of 25 for the Future by DownBeat Magazine. Wielding a unique blend of modern-day pop sensibility and sizzling musicianship, Skonberg creates music that is both alluring and exotic, making her a force in the new generation with her smoky vocals, bold horn melodies, and adventurous concoctions of classic and new.

Her curiosity as an artist has led to an eclectic repertoire and unconventional performances. In the last year, Bria has performed the music of Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, and recently sang the Star Spangled Banner at Madison Square Garden for a New York Rangers hockey game. Bria Skonberg has played prestigious festivals and stages the world over and is an avid educator and supporter of public school opportunities, giving numerous workshops and concerts for students of all ages each year. Ms. Skonberg will be joined by a trio featuring piano, bass, and drums for her Civic Music performance.
